Transport or a narrated experience?
A river bus is a scheduled transport service. A sightseeing cruise is designed around viewing and explaining the sights. Both can be enjoyable, but compare the role each plays in your day rather than the length of the river alone.
Count the journeys you will actually take
For a single Tower-to-Westminster leg, compare a single ticket with a sightseeing option. For several planned stops, compare pass validity against the route. Do not buy unlimited travel just because it sounds flexible.
Check the pier and direction
Similar destination names can conceal different boarding points. Tower Pier and Tower Bridge Quay are not interchangeable. Your voucher and the operator’s timetable decide where to board.
Keep attraction tickets separate
Neither format automatically includes Tower or Eye entry. Price the day as transport plus admissions unless an explicitly named combo covers the exact attractions you want.
Our practical recommendation
Use the river bus for a day with time in different neighbourhoods. Choose a sightseeing cruise for a simpler one-journey outing, especially when commentary matters more than multiple stops.

Our recommendations compare the experience and practical fit. Check current operator information and the selected ticket or tour before booking.
